Laminated shims

What is a peelable shim?

A peelable wedge is made up of a stack of metal or composite sheets, glued together to obtain a compact wedge whose mechanical properties and characteristics are perfectly preserved. It is available in different materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, composite and titanium. In use, it peels off easily until the user achieves the desired thickness.

It is available in thicknesses from 0.01 mm to 0.2 mm and can contain a solid part. It can also be of different shapes depending on the format of the material.

Why use peel blocks?

This ingenious and economical process saves significant time during the assembly and assembly of components, while allowing a real saving on grinding. The peelable wedge makes it possible to compensate for deviations due to material tolerances during assembly, and thus to adjustthe need by removing unnecessary sheets.

Industrial sectors

The peelable wedge is widely used in various industrial sectors such as aeronautics, aerospace, defense, armaments, automotive, food processing, optics, as well as in many national and international industries.
